How It Works

How an Expedition
Works

01

The Brief

Every expedition starts with a conversation. We define the objective — conservation documentation, brand asset creation, editorial commission, or long-form film — and scope the deliverables before anyone enters the field.

02

Reconnaissance

We study the terrain, seasonal conditions, species movement patterns, and local access logistics. If it is a region we have operated in before, we draw on years of embedded field intelligence. If it is new, we deploy an advance assessment.

03

Embedded Fieldwork

We do not fly in and fly out. BCN Wild embeds with the environment — days, sometimes weeks — operating at the rhythm of the ecosystem. Early light. Last light. The hours between that most photographers never see.

04

Post-Production

Raw material is processed with the same discipline applied in the field. Colour grading, selection, archival cataloguing, and narrative assembly for documentary projects. Every deliverable is final-grade.

05

Delivery & Licensing

Finished assets are delivered with full metadata, usage rights documentation, and licensing terms tailored to the client's needs — whether editorial, commercial, institutional, or archival.

What We Deploy For

Commission Types

01

Conservation Documentation

Long-term embedded projects for wildlife authorities, research institutions, and conservation NGOs. Species monitoring, habitat assessment, and visual evidence for policy and funding. These assets are not decorative — they are the argument.

02

Brand & Editorial

Photography and film packages for tourism operators, hospitality brands, and editorial publishers who need authentic East African visual assets — not stock, not staged. The kind of work that changes how a brand is perceived in a single frame.

03

Full Documentary Production

Short and long-form documentary commissions from concept through post-production. Broadcast-ready or web-native. Built for impact — not for views. The story determines the format, not the other way around.

04

Private Expeditions

Bespoke photographic expeditions for collectors, philanthropists, and individuals who want to experience East Africa through the lens of a professional — and leave with gallery-grade work. No group tours. No fixed itineraries.

Operational Capability

Field-
Ready.

Systems & Equipment

We operate with long-lens and gimbal-stabilized cinema systems rated for tropical humidity, extreme dust, and sub-zero highland conditions. Redundant storage. Satellite communication. Field-charged power systems. Every deployment is self-sufficient — no reliance on fixed infrastructure.

Ground Logistics

Ground logistics are managed through established networks of licensed guides, community liaisons, and park authorities across all four countries. Permits, access, and compliance are handled before departure. We do not improvise in the field — everything is pre-cleared.

Lead Times

Standard deployment lead time is four to six weeks from confirmed brief. Complex multi-country or multi-season projects require longer planning windows. Contact us early — the best access slots are held by returning clients.
